Jenny and Chris recently got married at this stunning Manor House close to Ilkley in North Yorkshire. The first thing I noticed about this venue was the incredible location, set in beautiful parkland with a fabulous view over Wharfdale. Considering the weather has been very changeable lately, we were also so lucky to have sunshine for the whole day. The exclusive use of this venue meant that the couple had the house and the grounds to themselves, which made for a lovely intimate setting. They also had the ceremony at the local church, St Helens, just outside the front gates and only a few yards away. ## Bridal Preparations at Denton Hall I arrived in the morning to meet Jenny and her bridesmaids getting ready in the lodge building next to the hall. Family and friends, bridesmaids and a very cute flower girl were all mulling about preparing for the day ahead. It was great to meet so many members of the immediate family early on as they were popping in and out of the lodge to help with the preparations. There was a very warm and friendly feel, everyone was calm but excited and I think relieved at how great the weather was! Meanwhile Chris and his groomsmen were getting ready in another part of the hall so as not to see the bride before the ceremony. However, they did take a few trips past the brides window on their way up to check out the church so we had to do some serious manoeuvring to make sure they didn’t get a sneaky peak of that dress! Jenny looked absolutely gorgeous, in her Spanish designed Pranovias wedding dress, which had a lovely classic/romantic look. ## Wedding Ceremony at Denton Hall Church Once the bridal party was ready Jenny and her Dad and the girls took the short stroll up through the gates to the church. The ceremony went really well with some lovely readings and the couple walked out to much applause and some serious confetti throwing. Back down at the main hall it was time for some drinks and canapés and congratulations all round. Even the pheasants appeared for the festivities and I had to include one picture here just for Chris! We then took the couple around the grounds for some portraits. Again the striking setting provided some great backdrops for the photographs and the inside of the house with that magnificent staircase and chandelier was just brilliant for some creative images. Soon it was time for the wedding breakfast and the speeches, which went really well and were very amusing but also very heartfelt. Finally they moved on to the cake cutting under the chandelier and they ended the night with some serious moves on the dance floor. I have to say I was very impressed with the couple’s dance routine which was met by significant applause from the very impressed crowd. The crowd themselves were also not so shy about getting up on that dance floor and I could tell there were a few experts up there! It was a pleasure to photograph this stunning Denton Hall wedding and for such a lovely couple. Thank you to Jenny and Chris for choosing me as your Denton Hall Wedding Photographer.
