Emma and Lee got married at the All Saint’s church, a beautiful old 15th century building in the heart of the village. They had their reception at Hornington Manor very close by. I love this venue and have photographed a few weddings here recently. It has a lovely rustic charm and couples have their wedding breakfast in a gorgeous old converted sheep barn surrounded by stunning countryside. I arrived to meet Emma and the bridesmaids all busy getting ready for the big day. I love photographing children at weddings and was pleased to see so many little ones running around in their cute dresses and suits. Emma did comment that the flower girls and page boys were absolutely brilliant on the day, and they were certainly great fun to photograph. Meanwhile the groom and groomsmen were getting ready in another part of the house before heading off to the the local pub next to the church to sink a couple of pints before the brides arrival. Apparently Lee didn’t actually have a shirt on the morning of the wedding as he forgot to pick it up from the dry cleaners on their way to Hornington, but thank goodness an usher came to the rescue with a spare one! ## Travel by Tuk Tuk The cutest little white tuk tuk transported the bride and her Dad to the church and as she walked down the aisle both were clearly moved by the occasion. Lee looked so happy to see Emma and there were definitely a few tears and plenty of smiles during the ceremony. Afterwards we took the opportunity whilst the weather was good to pop over to a lovely little forest bridge next to the church for a quiet moment and a few portraits. The weather, although great most of the day, didn’t hold on the way over to [Hornington Manor](https://kmattssonphotography.com/hornington-manor-wedding-photographer/ "Hornington Manor") and we did have a bit of a torrential downpour for the arrival. However this did not dampen anyones spirits as we went on to listen to a fantastic set of speeches which were very heartfelt but also very funny. Fortunately the bad weather came to an end and we got a chance to do the confetti shot just before the wedding breakfast. Emma did mention afterward that it perhaps wasn’t a great idea to have lavender buds as confetti as she was still brushing them out of her hair a couple of days later! but they did make for some great photographs! ## A beautiful wedding barn reception I must say I loved the styling of this wedding. The barn was decorated in a lovely rustic style and Emma and Lee had put a lot of effort into the details. They had a totally unique cork board seating plan which Emma had literally made from hundreds of corks that family and friends had sent to the couple from all around the world. This certainly impressed guests as they moved in to sit down to dinner. After the wedding breakfast we took advantage of the lovely light do do some more portraits around Hornington then it was back to the barn for the cake cutting and first dance. The reggae band (Mojah) was fantastic and there were some brilliant moves on the dance floor. Emma and Lee asked me to give a special mention to Jo from Hornington who was an absolute star the whole day, especially helping her with her dress. They would also like to especially thank Emma’s sister Tor and her other half Adam for being fantastic DJ’s before and after the band and for Tor being and incredible master of ceremonies.
