ABOUT ME

I grew up in Derbyshire, lived and worked in the USA and Sweden, married a Swede and now I’m back close to my roots, living in Yorkshire.

I’ve always loved travelling and when I was given my first SLR camera for my 21st birthday, I took it everywhere! I developed a passion for photography, dragging huge bags of equipment on every trip whilst photographing nature, landscapes and wildlife. Later, as a research biologist working at universities in the UK and abroad, I started to crave a more creative career utilising my photography skills. After running a technical photography unit as part of my research job, I started accepting portrait and wedding work on the weekends. I quickly realised how much I enjoyed photographing people, capturing their personalities and documenting moments in time.

My background scientific education was a great benefit to learning all the technical aspects of photography. I went on to train with some of the top wedding photographers in the UK to thoroughly learn all aspects of the business whilst covering more and more weddings. I then took the very exciting leap to opening my own business.

Since then, I haven’t looked back. I’ve photographed many amazing couples, fabulous personalities, stunning venues and incredible and unusual events. It is an honour that I’m given the task of capturing such an important event in peoples’ lives and I’m loving every minute of it!

When I’m not photographing weddings, I’m usually found stomping the wild landscapes of Northern Blighty or Sweden with hubby and a dog or two.
