Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. If you are getting hitched in The Lakes I would absolutely love to be your Lake District wedding photographer!
The Lake district is one of the most stunning and romantic areas for weddings with such a wide variety of beautiful landscapes including lush forests, stunning mountain vistas and vast lakes. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph weddings throughout the Lakes region and just love the variety of places to get married.
If you’d like to have a chat about your day or just receive my Lake District pricing information, please get in touch below. I’d be very happy to set up time for a no-obligation chat by phone/Zoom, I look forward to hearing from you!
You can find some of the most beautiful wedding venues in the Lake District. From small intimate wedding venues like Askham hall or Silverholme Manor, to 17th century stately homes like Armathwaite Hall, set on the shores of the breath-taking Bassenthwaite Lake. Please see my Armathwaite Hall Weddings Page for previous wedding photographs and more info.
If you are looking for a cosy barn venue then look no further than the beautiful Eden Barn at Kirkby Stephen. If you fancy a venue with a spectacular lake setting then try the Inn on the Lake with sweeping lawns right down to Ullswater lakeshore. You could also look at a Windermere wedding venue such as the Town Head Estate or Linthwaite House. If you want something more rustic there are yurts, tipi, and tree house options

Once you’ve booked the perfect venue it’s so important that you find the right photographer. These images will last a lifetime. They will record moments and emotions from your day that you will look back on for years to come and pass down through the generations.
My photography focuses on telling the story of your day. This means capturing how your day felt, not just how it looked. I want my work to capture who you are and your relationships with family and friends. You are unique and your event is unique and I want that to be reflected in my images.
I’m not fond of posed or staged images and I won’t keep you standing around for hours waiting for group shots to be completed. Of course, I always include group shots if you would like, but I get these done quickly and efficiently so you can get back to chatting with your guests. It is also very important to me that you feel comfortable in front of the camera. I keep the whole process fun and laid-back, making sure I understand what is most important to you. I’ve been told many times that I’m pretty good at making my couples feel comfortable and at ease in front of the lens.
The Lake District is a photographer’s dream, for both professional and amateur photographers alike. Filled with stunning lakes such as Windermere, Ullswater, Buttermere, Bassenthwaite Lake, Derwentwater, Consiton Water and many more, the Lake District is England’s largest national park and a UNESCO world heritage site.
However, this region is not all about the lakes. There is a combination of many other types of landscapes including beautiful valleys, dramatic waterfalls and tarns, lush woodlands, and sweeping mountain peaks.
There are so many amazing spots with incredible vistas. Check out Wasdale Head from the slopes of Great Gable or views of the distinctive Langdale Pikes from Elterwater. One of the best elevated viewpoints in the Lakes is from Latrigg which overlooks Keswick and Derwentwater. If you just want a leisurely stroll with some great vistas try Buttermere Valley, which has stunning photo opportunities in any weather.
Photography opportunities are always fantastic in the early morning in the Lakes. Look for beautiful morning reflections at Keswick boat landing or the early morning mist on Ullswater at Poole Bridge. You could also keep an eye out for one of the classic lakeland jetties which always make for a great photo. For example, Ashness Launch on Derwentwater, which is also beautiful at sunset. There are far too many beautiful spots to mention and endless opportunities for photography whatever your level.
I absolutely love combining a bit of Lake District landscape photography in to my wedding images. So if you have the opportunity for some early morning pictures on a beautiful misty lake or a short stroll up to a dramatic viewpoint during the couple portraits, I would love to follow along with my camera!
“Kirsty made our wedding day truly special. She managed to capture every moment we wanted and was amazing at organising all our guests. She braved the elements of a December Lake District Wedding to make sure she photographed our day exactly how we wanted. We cannot thank her enough, we love the images! A friendly but undeniably professional photographer” Helen & Joe
