It was fabulous to be back at one of my favourite Leeds wedding venues for a super fun day with Tom and Dan. Bowcliffe Hall is a very unique venue, with its deep-rooted aviation theme, and it provided the perfect setting for their day. Their ceremony took place under sunny skies in the garden and their reception took place in the very unusual Blackburn Wing—a striking structure designed to resemble an aeroplane wing, suspended among the trees. The combination of historic elegance and modern design made for an unforgettable backdrop to a wedding that was as full of energy as it was emotion.
The day began with a heartfelt exchange of gifts during the preparation stage, with Tom giving Dan a beautiful heirloom pocket watch. It was a touching moment, and Dan was clearly moved by such a meaningful gift. As the ceremony approached, both grooms walked in with their mums, who were beaming with pride. Emotions ran high, especially during the vows, when both Tom and Dan were clearly very moved by the proceedings . It was a lovely deeply personal ceremony that set the tone for the rest of the celebration.
From start to finish, this was a wedding bursting with joy. A small group of singers added a brilliant atmosphere to the ceremony. Every guest received a wedding favour like no other—each was gifted a different antique teacup, beautifully planted with a succulent or cactus, a truly personal and memorable touch. When it came time for speeches, Tom stood on a chair in the courtyard to address the crowd, delivering words that were very heartfelt and got much applause from family and friends.
Later on Dan and Tom attempted a dramatic smoke bomb photo, but it turned out to be a bit of a hilarious struggle as the pull tags had other plans—snapping one after another while guests offered not so helpful advice! Just as we were about to give up, one finally worked, and we got the shot. As the night went on, the couple hit the dance floor for their first dance and were briskly followed by guests who could not wait to start the party.
