I absolutely love photographing Broughton Hall weddings. Broughton Sanctuary is a beautiful Yorkshire Estate near to Skipton in the Yorkshire Dales. The Estate has two locations where you can celebrate your big day; Eden and Utopia. You can choose either a civil ceremony or get married in the beautiful Sacred Heart chapel on site. Jenny & Joe had an amazing day full of laughter and sunshine. They had their ceremony at the chapel and then moved to a marquee at Eden House for their reception.
If you are planning a wedding at Broughton Hall check out some of my favourite images from Jenny & Joe’s day below. Broughton Hall Estate – Wedding Preparations
I arrived to Eden House, a beautifully restored Georgian manor on the Broughton Hall Estate. Jenny and her bridesmaids were getting ready in the bridal suite, surrounded by breathtaking views of the rolling hills and countryside. The room is very unique with a large porthole window through which we could see friends and family bustling in and out of the marquee below. Everyone was in great spirits and looking forward to the day ahead. I had a good old mooch around the area and met family and friends dressing the marquee. I absolutely loved the beautiful flowers which were organised by a very talented friend.
Soon Jenny was ready to go and looked absolutely stunning in her white bridal gown. They decided to have a Bridal reveal first to the bridesmaids and then to Jenny’s Dad. The bridesmaids were suitably surprised and amazed at seeing Jenny in her gorgeous dress and I just love the expressions on their faces! Jenny’s Dad also looked quite emotional at seeing his daughter for the first time in her dress. He gave her a big hug.
Groom’s Arrival to the Sacred Heart Chapel
As the sun began to shine down on the estate, guests started to arrive, eagerly anticipating the ceremony. The Sacred Heart Chapel is a magnificent building with soaring ceilings and ornate stained-glass windows. The groom and groomsmen were having a fabulous time greeting their guests and handing out the order of service to people as they arrived. Joe looked very handsome in his classic blue suit.
Wedding Ceremony on the Broughton Hall Estate
Jenny arrived to the church with her father in his super cool classic Cobra. She was greeted by the bridesmaids who arranged her dress and then entered the church looking full of excitement and anticipation. The guests stood up as Jenny and her father walked down the aisle. Jenny looked absolutely stunning in her beautiful white gown. She fixed her eyes on the top of the aisle where Joe was beaming! As she arrived, Joe reached out to take her hand and they both looked so happy to see each other.
The ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, with close family and friends in attendance. The couple exchanged vows and the joy on their faces was infectious. The guests cheered as they had their first kiss. I love the couple’s reaction to being pronounced husband and wife. They both raised their hands in the air in celebration and walked down the aisle to much applause!
Celebrations with Confetti
The couple walked out of the church door cheering and waving as they were bombarded with confetti. This was definitely an enthusiastic crowd of confetti throwers! Afterward there were lots of congratulation, hugs and kisses, fun and laughter. The guests were clearly very happy for the couple.
The Walk to Eden House
After the ceremony, the couple and their guests made their way to Eden House, where they were greeted with glasses of champagne. Jenny and Joe climbed into the Cobra and had a fabulous send off with guests cheering and waving. The car drove off into the distance with Jenny waving her bouquet in the air.
I absolutely loved the drive and walk over to Eden through the Broughton Hall Estate. This was an opportunity for unique photography which was great fun to capture. The wedding guests went by foot in a long procession between the church and Eden House. The couple travelled in style in their Cobra and the wedding guests cheered and celebrated as the wedding car made its way through the crowd.
A Broughton Hall Wedding Reception
Once the guests had made their way over to Eden House it was time for champagne and canapés. The groomsmen decided to get together for a special moment where they planned to make the bride go airborne. This was very much appreciated by the guests who were clapping and cheering as Jenny was launched skywards. She enjoyed every minute of it and I got some great photos!
Broughton Hall Weddings – Couple Portraits
The Broughton Hall Estate is a beautiful and picturesque location, perfect for capturing stunning photographs of a wedding couple. I set of with Jenny and Joe for a quick stroll around the grounds to capture a few natural portraits. The couple looked very elegant together in their wedding attire, with Jenny’s white dress flowing behind her as they walked hand in hand through the lush green fields.
The wedding Breakfast
Soon it was time for the wedding breakfast in the marquee. The tables were laid with gorgeous flowers which had a lovely wildflower feel to them. Jenny and Joe walked in to a raucous crowd who were enthusiastically cheering and clapping. There were a few high fives as the couple made their way to top table.
The wedding breakfast was the perfect opportunity for family and friends to raise a glass and share their love and admiration for the happy couple. The speeches were a true highlight of the evening, with each speaker bringing their own unique perspective on the newlyweds. Jenny’s father started things off with a touching tribute to his daughter and son-in-law. This also include him whipping out Jenny’s much loved childhood baby blanket, much to everyones’ amusement, especially Jenny’s. He was then followed by Joe and the best man who both gave speeches that were really heartfelt and very funny.
Overall, the wedding speeches at Joe and Jenny’s wedding were a beautiful reminder of the power of love and the importance of family and friends. Each speech was filled with warmth, humor, and emotion, and it was clear that everyone in attendance was truly happy for the happy couple.
Sunset over the Broughton Hall Estate
As the wedding breakfast came to a close, the sun had started to sink lower in the sky. This was an opportunity for some lovely sunset photographs. We popped out for a five minute walk along the estates picturesque pathways to capture a few extra natural shots in the golden light.
Evening Celebrations
As the evening drew in, the party really got started, with guests hitting the dance floor and celebrating into the early hours of the morning. The couple had chosen a live band called The Timberfolk to provide the entertainment. They did not disappoint, with everyone up on their feet and dancing the night away.
The perfect end to a Broughton Hall Wedding day
I absolutely loved photographing Joe and Jenny’s Wedding day. The Broughton Hall Estate provided the perfect setting for this special occasion, and the attention to detail made it an unforgettable experience. It was a truly lovely wedding, and one that will be remembered fondly by all who were lucky enough to be a part of it.
