Ellie & Tyler’s Middleton Lodge wedding was everything you’d hope for from an autumn celebration in North Yorkshire. The couple chose the perfect autumn day for their wedding at Middleton Lodge, and the season absolutely delivered. The gardens around the Fig House were a riot of rich colour, with deep reds, burnt oranges and golden leaves framing every part of the day. Their ceremony took place on the terrace, bathed in soft October light, and it was clear from the outset just how much support they had in the crowd. There was a huge amount of warmth for these two – cheers, laughter and more than a few happy tears drifting across the terrace as they said their vows.
From the very first kiss (and the many that followed), Tyler kept everyone entertained with his now-signature move: at any given moment he’d dip Ellie dramatically backwards for a full-on kiss. It became something of a theme as the day unfolded. The confetti tunnel was a particular highlight – guests bombarded the couple with impressive enthusiasm, creating a blizzard of colour that stuck everywhere, including in the couple’s mouths. They took it all in their stride, laughing their way through it. Their entrance into dinner was just as lively, greeted by a sea of wildly waved napkins and plenty of cheering, setting the tone for brilliant speeches that were both heartfelt and genuinely funny.
As evening fell, the dance floor came into its own. Ellie and Tyler’s first dance was full of energy, twirling each other around before being swiftly joined by guests for what can only be described as joyful chaos. They were a wild bunch, waving light sticks in the air and belting out their favourite songs at the top of their lungs. It was loud, joyous and completely unfiltered in the best possible way. We rounded off the night with a champagne tower, a slightly tipsy group sparkler shot – always a crowd pleaser – before slipping away for a few creative night portraits by the fire pit and beneath the pagoda wrapped in autumn foliage. A fitting end to a day that felt relaxed, super fun and completely true to them.
