A Stunning North Yorkshire Wedding Venue

We had sunshine all day for this fabulous Middleton Lodge Wedding  in North Yorkshire. Middleton Lodge is a gorgeous Georgian country estate that offers two wedding venues; the main house and also the recently restored Fig House and Orangery, where Becky and Mike choose to have their big day. The Orangery has its original brick walls and floor to ceiling windows with lots of natural light making it a lovely room to photograph. The venue is set within a private walled kitchen garden which at this time of year was in full bloom and absolutely stunning.

If you are planning a wedding at Middleton Lodge check out some of my favourite images from Becky and Mike’s day below. For more information about my photography style please see the Approach page and the  Portfolios page or feel free to get in touch below. I’d love to talk to you about your plans for your upcoming wedding day and see if I could be the photographer for you.

A Beautiful Garden Ceremony

I arrived to meet Becky and her bridesmaids getting ready and excited for the day ahead. Becky works as a landscape gardener which is one of the reasons she choose this venue with its beautiful gardens. She had her heart set on having the ceremony outside and I was a little worried for her as the clouds started to roll in at ceremony time. In the end the decision was made to have a standing ceremony just in case we did have a downpour and the guests could duck back into the house. However, all went to plan and I don’t think we saw a drop of rain for the whole day! Becky looked absolutely stunning walking through the gardens and down the aisle with her Dad to meet her husband to be.

After the signing of the register indoors the couple walked out and back down the aisle under a shower of confetti. The guests then had a couple of hours to enjoy the gardens and have a few drinks and canapés and partake in the lawn games which involved some serious sack races!

Wedding Breakfast in the Orangery

Soon it was time for dinner and all their guests made their way into the orangery to be seated. The couple walked in to much applause and the speeches got underway. All the speeches went really well, including the best mans speech, which involved the game of ‘how well do you know the bride & groom’ which had the guests throughly entertained! After the meal it was back outside into the gardens, whilst he sun set, for some more drinks and sack races then it was soon time for the evening festivities.

The First Dance and a Surprise Flash Mob!

After the cake cutting and the throwing of the bouquet, the couple whisked each other around the dance floor for a fabulous first dance. Then, much to Mike’s surprise, an announcement was made for a performance by the bride and bridesmaids. I don’t know how the girls manage to keep this a secret from Mike, but they did, and suddenly they were performing a choreographed flash mob routine with some of the guests joining in. Mike was suitably taken aback and throughly enjoyed this brilliant surprise from his wife which had him in stitches!

All in all this was a fantastic summer wedding with brilliant weather and a fabulous crowd. Thanks so much to Becky and Mike for choosing me to photograph your stunning  wedding at Middleton Lodge  and all the best for a fabulous future together.
