As a recommended Orangery at Settrington wedding photographer I was so pleased to be back for Tess & Dan’s wedding. This has to be one of my favourite wedding venues. It is located in the grounds of an elegant Georgian stately home (Settrington House) which is set in beautiful, tranquil, North Yorkshire countryside. It provides a perfect atmosphere for relaxed, intimate and exclusive weddings with ample space for up to 250 guests.

The orangery is such a lovely stone building that reminds me of the old romantic Italian villas. It is set in beautiful ornamental gardens with a rose colonnade, the millennium fountain and a picturesque lake. The architecture includes stone pillars, beamed ceilings, lanterns and palladium windows. If you are planning a wedding at The Orangery check out some of my favourite images from Tess & Dan’s day below. If you are getting married at the Orangery at Settrington I’d love to talk to you about your plans for your upcoming wedding day and see if I could be the photographer for you. For more information about my photography style please see the Approach page and the  Portfolios page or feel free to get in touch below.

I arrived in the morning to the beautiful cottage onsite where Tess and her family and friends were getting ready for the big day.

Wedding Preparations at Garden Cottage

Everyone was in great spirits when I arrived to the garden cottage and extremely pleased to have fantastic sunny weather forecast for the whole day. The flower girls were playing in the garden and the adults were bustling about getting themselves and the bride ready. Grandad also arrived much to the delight of the page boys and Tess and Dan’s little boy who just loved giving him hugs! Once Tess was ready she joined the bridesmaids in the garden or a few photographs before heading off to the ceremony.

The Groom’s Arrival to Settrington

Soon Dan arrived at the venue with his groomsmen. They all seemed very relaxed and excited for the day ahead. Once they’d fixed their ties and buttonholes they welcomed their guests through the Settrington gates. All the guests were in fantastic spirits and they looked so happy to see Dan. I loved the variety of colourful characters and smiling faces.

A North Yorkshire Wedding Ceremony

As the guests moved into the ceremony Hall, Dan and his best man did the rounds, chatting to family and friends. The couple’s little boy became the star of the show, being very sociable as everyone stopped to say hi to him. Soon it was time for the ceremony to begin and Tess and her bridal party made the short walk from the cottage through the Settrington gates to the hall. You can see how happy Tess was as she entered the room. She looked absolutely beautiful in an elegant white halter neck dress and was glowing as she walked down the aisle with her father. I love the look on Tess’ face as she sees Dan and her baby boy at the top of the aisle!

An Orangery at Settrington Confetti Tunnel

The couple walked down the aisle to much applause then out of the building into the sunshine and a very long confetti tunnel. The guests throughly enjoyed bombing them with confetti! They then had a relaxing time joining their family and friends for drinks and canapés on the lawns.

Wedding Photos at the Orangery Settrington

Tess and Dan wanted to utilise the beautiful grounds of their venue for a few wedding portraits. We spent a little time wandering around the stunning gardens, and then to the lake near Settrington House. The whole area was very lush with beautiful fresh spring green colours. There was certainly an endless choice when it came to lovely backgrounds for their photographs. We also had beautiful clear blue skies and sunshine throughout the whole day!

An Orangery Settrington Wedding Reception

Soon it was time for the wedding breakfast and Tess and Dan entered the hall to much applause from their guests. They were greeted at top table by family and then sat down to listen to some lovely speeches. All the speeches went really well with humour but also very heartfelt and they got a fabulous reaction from the audience.

Evening Celebrations at the Orangery

As the evening approached Tess and Dan took to the dance floor. The Hall inside the orangery provided a beautiful, elegant space for their first dance whilst they were cheered from the sidelines by their guests. Many of the wedding guests joined them and soon a large group was rocking the night away!

Photographs by the Settrington Fountain

Before finishing for the evening I encouraged the couple outside for a few last photographs by the stunning moonlit fountain. Just adding in a little flash helped to light up the water droplets to makes some beautiful portraits.

Thanks so much to Tess and Dan for choosing me as your Orangery Settrington wedding photographer. It was an absolute pleasure to photograph your amazing day and thanks for being so lovely to work with. All the best for a wonderful happy life together 🙂
