Priory Cottages Wedding Photography
We had a gorgeous sunny day for some fabulous Priory Cottages wedding photography with a very relaxed and fun couple Helena & Rob. This is a stunning luxury barn wedding venue surrounded by acres of beautiful countryside, near to Wetherby in North Yorkshire. The whole wedding was on site at the barn which made for a very relaxing day. Both the bride and groom were getting ready in separate cottages and I arrived to meet the girls who were in great spirits. Helena had apparently been on an early morning run with her Dad so was all energised and ready for the big day. There was however, a slight wardrobe crisis meaning Helena had to be stitched into her dress by her amazing aunty right before the ceremony, but that didn’t phase her!
I heard also there was some other slightly dodgy moments with a bit of a water shortage and also the groomsmen having to lift a heavy flower arch over a glass mezzanine floor! but everyone took it all in their stride. I must say the day had a fabulous atmosphere. Lots of people got involved including all the bridesmaids who did a great job helping Helena. Helena’s son Archie did such a lovely speech during dinner and then their were also the cousins Chris and Andy who played the music for the drinks reception.
Rob and his groomsmen were super fun and Rob had a big grin on his face the whole day. Helena looked absolutely stunning walking down the aisle with Archie and her Dad and the vows sparked a few happy tears as did some of the speeches later on at dinner. Great weather all day long meant we were able to spend a bit of time in the day taking a few portraits of the couple in the surrounding countryside. We also managed a few photographs as the sun was going down. Finally the day ended with the first dance followed by Helena and her Dad smashing the father/ daughter dance to ELO Mr Blue Sky. Helena said it was so so funny as it was her Dad’s idea and the last thing that she would have expected he would want to do!!!
