York Wedding Photography
This recent wedding at The Grange Hotel in York was a fabulous event. The Grange is a regency townhouse built in 1829. This was followed by a trip to the Museum Gardens and then a reception at the De Grey Rooms, an elegant early Victorian ballroom close to the Minister. The wedding went without a hitch and we were lucky with great weather all day. We started off with the bridal prep in the Grange hotel where it became very clear that Leonie, Carly and Ralph’s little girl, was going to be a major part of their day. Carly said herself that Leonie was so excited about being a flower girl that for a long time before the big day she asked every day if it was the wedding day. Now the day was here I could see how excited she was and made sure to capture lots of photos of her all dressed up and very cute!
Ralph’s Scottish heritage meant that all the boys were in kilts which was great fun and always makes for some interesting pictures and comments! We met the boys outside the hotel for some quick shots then it was on to the ceremony in the library. For the couple portraits we started off in the hotel which offered a great location for dramatic shots with it’s sweeping staircase. Then we were off to the Museum Gardens, a beautiful botanic garden in the grounds of St Mary’s Abbey which provided a fantastic backdrop for the couple portraits. When I say couple I mean couple plus Leonie, who thoroughly enjoyed having her pictures taken with the bride & groom. After the reception the couple had their first dance and then the day finished with a ceilidh that had everyone up dancing!
This was a very elegant and beautiful wedding and the marriage of a really lovely couple. Huge congratulations to Carly and Ralph and Leonie on such a fabulous day, and thank you for choosing me for your Grange Hotel wedding photography in York. .All the best for your married life together
