The Town Head Estate is one of my favourite wedding venues in the Lake District. It’s a beautiful luxury wedding barn on the shores of Lake Windermere with extensive gardens and half a mile of private shoreline. I was back here for another beautiful sunny wedding day, this time with Emma & Daniel. I arrived to the bridal suite to find the girls in cute matching blue silk pj’s and in great spirits. Emma was relaxed and looking forward to a beautiful sunny wedding day. It was lovely also to meet her super cute little boy who was such a character and loved being the star of a photo or two. Daniel and his groomsmen were getting ready in one of the rooms on site and I met up with them in the garden whilst they were attaching their buttonholes and greeting guests as they arrived at the venue.
Because the couple had great weather, they were able to have their ceremony on the patio with fantastic views over the lake. This is such a stunning location to say your I do’s! The bridesmaids, in their elegant sparkly blush dresses, made their way from the bridal cottage down through the gardens to the patio. Emma quickly followed with her Dad and looked absolutely stunning in her gorgeous fitted white lace gown with a Bardot neckline.
The ceremony went without a hitch. There were some lovely readings from friends and family and a lot of laughter, smiles and a few tears from the audience. This was followed by a total confetti bombardment as the couple walked down the aisle, much to everyone’s amusement. After receiving lots of hugs and congratulation the couple took a short time out to have a walk around the venue grounds for a few couple portraits. We were spoilt for choice with fantastic natural backdrops for the photography including the gardens and shoreline of lake Windermere. The boathouse with its short jetty offered a great opportunity for photos of the wedding couple in front of the lake.
Soon it was time for the wedding breakfast and Emma and Daniel walked in to the upstairs barn to much applause. The speeches went down a treat with the audience, being funny but also quite touching, and soon the wedding party was tucking into a delicious three course dinner. One of my favourite parts of this day was the evening reception. With a beautiful golden evening light, guests were reluctant to head in for the dancing but once they did and hit that dance floor they had an absolute blast! I love a wedding with a brilliant dancing crowd and this was one of those weddings! The couple started off with their first dance and then family and friends piled onto the dance floor for some very enthusiastic and energetic dance moves. I particularly enjoyed capturing an action shot of one of the guests splitting his trousers whilst the audience howled with laughter!
This wedding day at the Town Head Estate was an absolute joy to capture. Perfect weather, a fabulous venue, a lovely couple and some very friendly and fun guests. What more could you ask for. All the best to Emma and Daniel and thank you for choosing me as your photographer for your special day.
