This wedding in Harrogate and Pateley Bridge has to be one of my favourite events this year. I love a wedding that is a bit different and this one was very unique. A countryside, rustic wedding organised with a lot of love and attention and with so many gorgeous hand crafted details. Pippa and Andrew got married at Pippa’s church in Harrogate and then moved on to the reception in a yurt on their farm near Pateley Bridge. Their beautiful country cottage provided the backdrop for their reception. The location was absolutely stunning, with rolling hills, sweeping views, gorgeous wildflowers and animals of both the wild and tamed variety mulling about. We also could not have had better weather. An absolutely gorgeous day allowed us to take a trip on route between the church and their home for some fantastic photo opportunities high up on the moorlands  looking across the Nidderdale valley.

Andrew and Pippa met in November 2013 through the online dating website “Plenty of Fish”. Pippa’s tag line was “Searching for the Good Life” and in her profile she mentioned that all she really wanted was to find someone with whom to share a cup of tea. This appealed to Andrew and after dating for a year and a half they were engaged. Later in the year they found this stunning dream home in North Yorkshire which they now share with Andrew’s two daughters, two dogs, two cats and twelve chickens. The yurt was attached to their old barn, which Andrew has spent the previous two months redesigning inside to include the new “gin loft”, which was very popular amongst the guests!

I particularly love the styling of this wedding , the guest names being tagged to rustic bottles containing individual flowers such as lavender and sweet peas, the table cards were beautifuly hand painted with different types of birds, and the tables filled with colourful vintage teacups and saucers and homemade sweet jars. There were also wildflowers and rustic signs everywhere and ample helpings of homemade pimms and Elderflower cordial, this was definitely my type of wedding!

As Pippa said they got the fairytale wedding of their dreams, and it was a pleasure to photograph such a lovely wedding for a lovely couple. All the best to both for a wonderful future together.

Kirsty was exactly what we wanted from a photographer for our wedding. Neither of us enjoy posing for photos, so the pre-wedding photo shoot was a great way to put us at ease and was great fun. Whilst we wanted a few necessary group photos, our main aim was that the photos would document the day for us, in particular capturing lots of natural shots of our guests. We absolutely love the photos! Kirsty has captured lots of happy, smiling faces and she also took the time to take photos of the details that we had spent so much time on. At the church she took some lovely photos but at no point were we really aware of her being there. We would wholeheartedly recommend her!
