A lovely wedding ceremony in Winestead
I really enjoyed travelling over to East Yorkshire for a wedding at the Whitehall Estate with Emily and David. Whitehall is situated in Winestead not far from Hull. It is a grade II listed building surrounded by acres of land and serene gardens filled with wild flowers. The house is over 200 years old. I arrived to meet Emily and her bridesmaids who were getting ready in the estate’s elegant wedding lodges. Once everyone was ready they to the short trip over to St Germaine Church in Winestead, for their ceremony. I loved their two very cute Morris Minors which were beautifully decorated with flowers and used for the trip between the estate and the church. After the ceremony I got the opportunity to take a few photographs of the couple walking around the estate, utilising the house as a backdrop and the stunning poppy fields. I also thoroughly enjoyed a quick whizz around the country lanes with them in one of their cute Morris Minors, getting a few shots of them whilst I was precariously balancing in the front seat. As a photographer this is the stuff I love!
A sunny wedding reception at the Whitehall Estate
After a fabulous meal in the marquee and some very funny speeches the couple and their wedding party spent sometime outside in the beautiful warm sunshine, taking the opportunity to play the many lawn games that the couple had organised. The day continued with a fabulous first dance with the couple surrounded by a cheering crowd. The guests then hit the dance floor and I have to say this was a brilliant party. I loved capturing all the mad, glow stick waving, dance floor action! Before I left I took the opportunity to take a champagne pop photograph of the couple and their friends. David did a great job of getting some serious champagne spray over everyone including me!
