We had an absolutely gorgeous day for this relaxed wedding in York and Ripon with Sophie & Graham. The couple tied the knot at the York registry office and had their marquee reception at Little Seed Farm, a stunning location high on the moorlands near Ripon with sweeping views as far as the eye could see. The day included very cute dancing flower girls, a procession of 100 cattle, a lovely midday lunch and a brilliant crowd of very fun and friendly family and guests.

I arrived to the family home to catch Sophie as she came back from the hairdressers and capture the morning activities. The men of the house were happily in the kitchen making the sandwiches for lunch and the flower girls were already dancing. I was so impressed to see the beautiful flower bouquets and to hear they had actually all been deisigned by Sophie’s Mum, who had been on a short one day course in flower design and was now making stunning arrangements. She should do this for a living!

Sophie was soon in her dress and ready to go so we made our way to the registry office in York. Graham was already there greeting the guests and looking very excited for the day ahead. Sophie looked stunning in her dress and tartan cape as she walked down the aisle with a very proud Dad, to meet her husband to be.

After the ceremony the guests congregated in the gardens before the family travelled back to the house for lunch. I was totally spoilt on this wedding as the family kindly asked me to join them for lunch. Future wedding will just not be the same! It was lovely to have this break in the day, relax and have some food and get to know everyone a little. The house had some beautiful gardens so we took advantage of the location to take a few portraits of the couple.

Soon it was time for the drive to Ripon. I went early to capture the styling and decorations within the marquee. I do love a wedding with a lot of personal touches and there was so many lovely decorations arranged by family and friends. When Sophie and Graham arrived the guests were enjoying the amazing weather and views and waiting enthusiastically to shower them with confetti.

Soon is was time for dinner and and the speeches which kept the guests entertained. Then the evening ended with a fabulous first dance followed by a very energetic ceilidh. Thanks so much to Sophie and Graham for choosing me as your wedding photographer in York. It was a pleasure to photograph your fun and friendly day. All the best for your future lives together.
