I absolutely loved photographing this Bolton Abbey wedding with Rebecca & Harry. They had their ceremony at the very striking Bolton Abbey followed by their reception at the cosy and atmospheric Tithe Barn next door. The sun didn’t exactly appear much throughout the day but we did manage to dodge the rain showers.
Rebecca and her bridesmaids got ready at the lovely cottage on the Broughton Hall Estate. It was a bit rainy when I arrived but everyone was in great spirits having hair and makeup done. Meanwhile, the boys were getting ready at a cosy barn not too far away.
A Bolton Abbey wedding ceremony
Rebecca looked absolutely stunning walking down the aisle of the priory church with her father and Harry looked extremely happy to see his bride. The ceremony was really lovely with several readings and the couple walked out to much applause. As the rain had stopped the couple decide to have a walk around the Priory for a few photographs and we were able to capture some great shots amongst the quite striking ruins.
A wedding reception at Tithe Barn
Next, the couple hopped into their wedding car and took the quick journey to Tithe barn for their wedding breakfast. They were greeted at the barn by a crowd of guests waiting to shower them with confetti as they walked through the doors. Soon it was time to sit down for the wedding breakfast and again the couple were greeted with much applause as they walked into the room. The speeches were all fabulous, both funny and moving and they went down really well with the guests. Finally, it was time for the evening festivities, and unknown to Harry, Rebecca had another dress planned which she surprised him with before the dancing. Finally, the couple whisked each other around the dance floor for a fabulous first dance, followed by lots of lovely toasting of marshmallows and a big sparkler moment.
All in all, this was a fabulous wedding with a great crowd of people and a lovely atmosphere. Thank you Rebecca and Harry for choosing me as your Bolton Abbey wedding photographer and a huge congratulations on a really lovely day.
