Bolton Castle Wedding Published in Two Magazines

I’ve included a few images below from one of my favourite weddings at Bolton Castle. James and Martha’s had such an incredible day at this very unique Yorkshire Dales wedding venue.

I am also so pleased that their real wedding story has now been published in both the Yorkshire Living magazine and Your Yorkshire Wedding magazine, see below;

Bolton Castle Wedding Photos

This Yorkshire Dales wedding venue offers so much scope for creative photography. There are endless backdrops. From stunning views from the top of the castle to beautiful gardens including a maze, a wild flower meadow, a herb garden, rose garden and a vineyard. Medieval tunnels run throughout the castle with narrow winding stone staircases, archways and candlelit rooms. You’ll also find an old dungeon, an armoury and Mary Queen of Scot’s bedroom! The castle certainly has an incredible history and atmosphere!

Martha and James’ day was just gorgeous, if slightly windy, with lots of fun, love and laughter. See examples of photos from their wedding day below. As King and Queen of the castle for the day, they followed in the steps of royalty! You can read more about the fantastic history of this medieval Yorkshire Dales castle at the bottom of the post.

Natural Wedding Photography at Bolton Castle

My approach to the day is very natural and most of the day is covered in a documentary style. I’m not interested in posing people and I’m not going to ask for fake grins. Every wedding day is unique and the people are unique. I always aim to capture that unique character in my images. Photographing moments with meaning, emotions, the fun and laughter and tears on the day and all those details that you spent ages putting together. I’m also conscious that you don’t want to spend too long away from your guests. I make sure that any group shots and couple portraits that you might want are done quickly and efficiently so you can get back to your guests and those all-important canapés. Please see more information on my approach here.
