I absolutely loved photographing Nadia and Phil’s fabulous wedding day at Low Osgoodby Grange. This is a gorgeous location for a relaxed summer wedding day. The site is located in the tranquil and remote North Yorkshire countryside near to the town of Thirsk. Nadia and Phil had their ceremony in the atmospheric woodland setting and their tipi reception took place just a few yards away next to a beautiful private lake.
I met Nadia and Phil when they were first planing their wedding day when they came for a consultation at my studio. I was immediately struck by how lovely they were and I felt I had so much in common with them, especially their love of hiking and nature and the outdoors. It was great to hear the sorries of their travels including Phil’s amusing proposal at the top of a mountain top in Canada, whilst being scared of an avalanche! they are real adventurers!
The location has a small manor house on site where Nadia and the girls got ready before walking through the buttercup fields to the woodland setting where the ceremony was being held. I loved one of the groomsmen’s spontaneous, joyful jumps into the air, clicking his heels as he walked down in front of the girls. Nadia looked absolutely stunning as she walked down the aisle with her father and Phil looked overjoyed to see his bride to be. The woodland site consists of a beautiful timber pergola entwined with flowers and it really felt like we were just immersed in nature and surrounded by bird song. The ceremony was conducted by Helen Philips of Your best Life Celebrant and she did a really beautiful job with some lovely readings and some stories about the couple’s journey together.
After the ceremony, the couple walked out of the woodland setting into a confetti shower and were congratulated by their family and friends. We then took some time to have a wander around the location for some lovely natural couple shots. There was no shortage of scenic backdrops from the woodland to the lake and the buttercup fields. The fact that they also had such lovely weather, only added to make a really perfect wedding day for the couple.
The later half of the day consisted of a tipi reception with some brilliant speeches which went down so well with the guests. As the sun was beginning to set I took the opportunity to take a couple of sunset photos by the lake and then the couple hit the dance floor for a fabulous first dance. Soon the guests joined them and rocked the night away.
