Sabina & Shaun had a fabulous wedding day at Thirsk Lodge Barns. This is a lovely luxury barn wedding venue set in the rolling countryside of North Yorkshire, near to the town of Thirsk. The barns are exclusive use so the couple had the whole venue to themselves for the day. It was slightly rainy when I arrived in the morning but they were lucky enough to have good weather for the rest of the day.

Their ceremony took place in the stunning rustic barn, where exposed beams and warm fairy lights created the perfect romantic atmosphere. As Sabina walked down the aisle, she looked absolutely stunning in her elegant Essence of Australia wedding dress. Shaun’s face said it all, capturing a moment of pure connection. You could just tell these two are meant for each other! l loved the little smiles and cheeky glances they shared during the vows. After the ceremony the couple walked down the aisle to much applause. They then made their way out to the courtyard through a tunnel of confetti, surrounded by the cheers and joy of their loved ones.

After canapés and champagne we took the opportunity for a stroll around the grounds of Thirsk Lodge Barns for some couple portraits. Sabina and Shaun are so natural together that is was very easy to get some lovely shots of them walking hand in hand down the country lanes and laughing together. At one point, Shaun had to lift Sabina over a muddy gate to get back into the grounds—it was a hilarious and heartwarming moment that I didn’t miss capturing on camera ! It perfectly captured their fun-loving spirit!

The reception was a lively and heartwarming affair, complete with fabulous speeches, delicious food, and a buzzing atmosphere. The dance floor was packed all night, with Sabina and Shaun’s first dance setting the tone for an evening of fun. Confetti was a big part of this day and I loved the fact they danced in to the room under a canopy of confetti released from two confetti bombs.

To top off the night, we captured some stunning nighttime shots of the couple being showered in bubbles. Under the soft glow of some coloured lights, the moment added a touch of magic to an already incredible day. Their wedding day was a perfect mix of rustic elegance and relaxed and fun celebration, making it an occasion to remember for everyone who was lucky enough to be there. Congratulations to Sabina and Shaun and thank you so much for choosing me a your photographer.

I also particularly enjoyed working with Dan, a videographer from We were here films, and we all had a great laugh with Luke the Magician.

We have just received the photos from our wedding from Kirsty and we can’t believe how quickly they were returned and the sheer number of them. They are of the upmost quality and we also loved that many of the photos are both colour and black and white. It was clear to see that many hours had gone into preparing them.

Before our wedding we had an in person meeting to discuss final details. It was clear to see that Kirsty was extremely professional, had a wealth of experience to offer and was accommodating to our requests.

On the day, Kirsty was on site from early morning and began shooting straightaway and did not stop until very late in the evening once we had all of the photos we needed. She worked extremely well with our videographer and brought great energy to the day.

She has a fantastic eye for capturing lovely natural moments and we have hundreds of photos we will forever cherish.
