It was lovely to be back at one of my favourite wedding venues for Hannah and Paul’s beautifully sunny New Year’s Eve wedding. Saltmarshe Hall is a stunning Georgian grade II listed stately home set in 17 acres of beautiful parkland. It is situated on the north bank of the River Ouse, close to the town of Goole. I’ve covered a few wedding days at this East Yorkshire wedding venue so know it really well. I love the fact that the hall is exclusive and the couple get the whole place to themselves for the day.
I arrived to meet Hannah and the girls in the bridal suite getting ready. They were all in fantastic spirits and could not believe how lucky they were with the weather forecast. I also met Paul and his groomsmen who were downstairs attaching buttonholes in the library. The couple had their ceremony in the beautiful orangery. As the guests waited, Hannah descended the grand staircase with her bridesmaids and made her way to the ceremony room. She looked absolutely stunning in her white fitted gown walking up the aisle with her Mum, and Paul looked so happy to see her as she approached the top of the aisle.
The ceremony went without a hitch and Hannah and Paul walked out too much applause and then into their confetti tunnel on the front steps of the hall. Guests enjoyed bombarding them with petals much to their delight and soon everyone was tucking into canapés and champagne. After they had had time for congratulations and a good chat with their friends and family, I took a stroll around the grounds with them for some couple portraits. Saltmarshe Hall has some stunning grounds and gardens and there are no shortage of lovely backdrops for the photography. They are such a fun couple and I really enjoyed wandering around with them, having some great chats and getting some lovely natural shots.
Once back at the hall it was time for the wedding breakfast and the couple walked in to the room with their little baby boy to so much applause! They sat down to hear some lovely speeches which were all very funny and quite moving, then they tucked into a fabulous three course meal. After the dinner, the evening reception started with a the couple’s first dance and then the guests joined them on the dance floor to rock the night away. I had agreed to stay to midnight to document them welcoming in the new year so I had plenty of time for some creative night time shots on the steps of the house. Finally it was time for some final photographs, this time of the fireworks and everyone gathered outside to see a fantastic display.
