I particularly love the lighting at Wharfedale Grange, which really allows for some beautiful wedding photography. Confetti at Wharfedale Grange
The South Barn which is used for the wedding reception is a stunning room with designer tables and a huge rose gold mirror ball which is the centrepiece of the dance floor. I particularly love the fact that they make a big show of any cake cutting or bouquet throwing by doing this in the middle of the dance floor. Couples can also choose to have the famous Wharfedale Grange confetti canons for their first dance, which makes for some pretty epic photography! In fact, confetti is a big thing at Wharfedale Grange. You can have it outside in the courtyard, inside under the balcony or on the dance floor. See examples below;
A great tip if you are getting married at Wharfedale Grange
My biggest tip for your wedding at Wharfedale Grange is to get ready for the big day in the gorgeous Grade II listed Georgian farmhouse onsite. You can even stay there overnight with your bridal party as it has six bedrooms. This house is a photographer’s and a bride’s dream! It is sumptuous, elegant, luxurious and equipped with fine furnishings and gorgeous lighting. Ella choose to get ready for her big day at the farmhouse with her fabulous bride tribe. Creative, Natural Wedding Photography at Wharfedale Grange
I’m primarily a documentary style wedding photographer which means I have a very natural approach to capturing your day. I’m not interested in fake grins or posing people. My aim is always to capture how your day feels not just how it looks, by photographing moments that have real meaning. I’m all about the laughter, the joy, the tears and the personalities and really photographing the character of your day. That’s not to say I won’t make some beautiful creative portraits, which I love doing, but these will also be done in a very natural way.

WHAT IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?
My style is a blend of documentary photography and creative portraiture. My aim is always to photograph your day completely naturally by capturing genuine emotions and interactions and documenting the unique character and atmosphere of your day. If you’d like, I can also spend a short amount of time with you for some artistic portraits utilising the venue interiors and surroundings. I’ll offer gentle guidance without any posing or forced grins for some lovely natural portraits.

DO YOU OFFER GUIDANCE FOR WEDDING PORTRAITS?
I’ll offer some gentle guidance in a very natural way for a few creative, high-impact, portraits, incorporating beautiful light, colour and scenery. I want you to be totally comfortable in front of the camera and feel like yourselves in the images. There will definitely be no cheese or formal posing!
HOW DO YOU HANDLE CHALLENGING LIGHTING SITUATIONS SUCH AS POORLY LIT North Yorkshire VENUES OR BAD WEATHER?
I have a background in scientific education and have worked in some top universities worldwide. This has been a great benefit to me in learning all the technical aspects of photography. I have a great deal of experience utilising additional lighting, such as flash, for dark situations or just for creative night-time portraits. You can rest assured that you will still have a set of images that you love even if you have a dimly lit venue or a rainy day.
WHAT IS YOUR EDITING STYLE?
My style is natural and colourful. I take a great deal of care when editing images, but I want your images to look like your day looked, so they are not over-edited. I do not use bulk treatments or presets; I hand-edit every image to the highest standards. I also include a small amount of retouching when needed.
HAS YOUR WORK BEEN RECOGNISED?
I am qualified with the Guild of Professional Photographers. I have received recognition and awards from some of the top photographic institutions, such as Fearless Photographers and the Masters of Wedding Photography. I have also been published in training publications and various high-profile wedding blogs and magazines.
