Wow wow WOW! We stayed up until 1am looking at the photographs over and over. There are soooo many amazing ones, we don’t have enough walls in our house to hang them all!
Ella & Karim

I turned up to the fairly newly renovated wedding cottage on site at Wharfedale Grange. Straight away I knew this was going to be an incredible building for photography. With stunning rooms, large mirrors reflecting the light and beautiful romantic chandeliers everywhere, I could not wait to get started! Ella and her bridesmaids and a very important bridesman were in great spirits for the day ahead. The weather forecast could not have been better!

Wedding preparations at Wharfedale Grange

Ella choose an amazing florist called Daisy Hoban who is know for her luxurious creative bouquets bursting with colour. I absolutely love these wedding flowers!

Once the girls were in their dresses I took the opportunity to take a few photographs of Ella by the beautiful light of the cottage windows and with her gorgeous baby boy. She looked absolutely stunning in her dress from Ava Rose Hamilton by the designer Essense of Australia.

They then had a very emotional bridal reveal, first to the bride tribe, and then to Ella’s father. I just loved everyones reactions to seeing Ella for the first time in her dress. There were screams of delight followed by a few happy tears!

Whilst the girls were getting ready, Karim and his groomsmen had arrived at Wharfedale Grange. I joined them as they were greeting their guests. The couple’s baby boy became the star of the show grabbing all the attention from the family and friends. We popped outside for a few shots of the groomsmen together walking in the grounds of the venue.

Wedding ceremony at Wharfedale Grange

I love the walk in to the ceremony at Wharfedale grange. The bridal party navigates a lovely second floor bridge surrounded by fairy lights, down the stone stair case and then it’s through the double doors and under a stunning chandelier to the ceremony room. The bride tribe stopped for a quick round of shots to celebrate before making their way up the aisle. Ella told me one of her favourite images of the day was the one below were Karim is waiting the arrival of his bride. You can see Ella and her Dad in the background. I was very pleased to capture this moment showing Karim’s nervous, excited anticipation! Ella and her Dad walked the aisle and she looked so happy to see her husband to be.

The wedding ceremony went without a hitch, several lovely readings and lots of smiles and laughter from the audience. After their first kiss, Ella & Karim walked out to much applause in front of the striking curtain of fairy lights.

As the guests left the ceremony room they grabbed a cone of confetti each. Ella & Karim were hiding in the room next door whilst everyone was getting in position to throw confetti from the balcony.

Wharfedale Grange wedding photographs

After being suitably showered with confetti and very much congratulated by their guests, Ella and Karim wizzed off in their wedding car for a quick spin on the Yorkshire lanes surrounding Wharfedale Grange. Once they’d had a little time out to themselves they were ready for a few portraits in the grounds of the venue. Wharfedale Grange is a beautiful wedding venue as it has such a variety of backdrops for stunning photography. We were spoilt for choice with the lovely cottage gardens, wide fields with dramatic skies and a small lake. Inside we had lots of options too and later on we made use of the fairylights, mirrors and chandeliers to capture some romantic portraits.

A Yorkshire wedding barn reception

That’s an entrance with style! (see above). Ella and Karim entered through the big glass doors to their huge reception room filled with celebrating guests. Afterwards they sat down to a lovely meal and some excellent speeches. The couple had decorated their tables with beautiful flowers, again from Daisy Hoban, and some lovely Egyptian touches.

A sunset at Wharfedale Grange

After the meal we had a minute to take a few quick photographs in front of the sunset and then it was time for the evening festivities! This started with the cutting of the wedding cake which was beautifully made by the bride’s sister Maise. Ella then thew her bouquet to an excited crowd and it was the bridesman John who dived for the catch and nabbed it, much to his delight!

Wedding confetti on the dance floor

I love the first dance at Wharfedale Grange because they shower the couple with confetti from two huge confetti canons. This is great fun for everyone and makes for some super photographs. Afterward the friends and family joined the couple for some high energy dance floor action!

After a spot of dancing the big surprise of the day was revealed. The couple had organised an Egyptian belly dancing performance much to the delight of family and friends. Eleanor from a Taste of Cairo was absolutely brilliant.

Before finishing for the evening I took one last night time portrait of the couple outside Wharfedale Grange, under the fairy lights. I then left them all to rock the night away!

Thanks so much to Ella & Karim for choosing me as your Wharfedale Grange wedding photographer. It was an absolute pleasure to photograph your amazing day. All the best for a wonderful happy life together 🙂
